ETTER ALLE SOLEMERKE - a sound - and videoinstallation by Lars Ove Toft and Maia Urstad
This site specific work is developed especially for the gallery space at Kabuso in Hardanger, Norway; a 30 x 6 meters large space, with ceiling up to 5 meters, and with a continuous row of 12 windows with a view to the Folgefonna glacier and the Hardangerfjord. The room’s acoustically long reverb has been used actively in the sonic composition.
The works consists of:
Audio for 21 speakers played from 3 different positions.
Video work for 9 screens and two window projections.
2 mechanical sound objects.
One interactive speaker object.
Essential elements: the view from Kabuso, changes in the nature outside, sounds from near and far, and surveys and reflection on how we shape our world through perception. Key words as transport, transmission and time are used as thematic, auditory and visual superstructure.
